Bangert Oil & Equipment closes in Harbine after more than 51 years in business. (2)

G and M Processing add a variety of sporting goods for fishing and hunting to their business. (2)
Fire causes damage to Flag Automotive located at 6th & E. St. in Fairbury determined to be arson. (2)
Park View Manor in Fairbury received a $216.300 grant to be used to implement handicap requirements.(2)
Proposal to relocate the local senior diners program from the Fairbury Legion building to the Fairbury City Park.(2)
Widespread rain in June. 3.85 inches recorded by the Fairbury Light Plant. (2)
Several businesses, including True Value Hardware, (K St. south of town) suffer losses after more than 8 inches of rain floods the in Little Blue River, Fairbury. (2)

1993

An art studio ran by Depke Andres and her daughter closes.(2)

Fairbury City Council granted preliminary approval of a three year union contract.

A major section of Fairbury's water supply was under extensive renovation.

Fairbury businessman Bob Atkins, was awarded the 1993 Fairbury Community Service Award from the Chamber of Commerce for his efforts to have a mural painted on the north side of the Rexall Pharmacy.

1994

Fairbury residents Bob and Wauneta Burkley presented Jefferson Memorial Hospital officials with a check for $750,000 to help fund a wellness center at the hospital.

Kenneth Roesler, Western, was presented with a 30 year service award by the National Weather Service.
