Fairbury was awarded the Tree City Usa Award from Lt. Govenor Dave Heineman from the Arbor Day Foundation.(2)
Ribbon cutting was held by the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce for the expansion and improvement at the Fairbury City Museum.

Improvements include a new barn storage area and improvements inside the museum.
Fairbury Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the new Senior Diners location at the Fairbury Community Building in the city park. Previous to this the Senior Diners were meeting at the American Legion club on the corner of 5th & C streets. (2)

Stop lights removed from downtown Fairbury, replaced with four way stop signs. (2)

A food drive conducted by the First Baptist Church Vacation Bible School, Fairbury,  raised over 400 pounds of food for the Blue Valley Action Food Pantry.(2)

A new siren system will be replacing an old version in Reynolds with the help of a grant from the U.S. Deparment of Agriculture.
