Fairbury
was awarded the Tree City Usa Award from Lt. Govenor Dave Heineman
from the Arbor Day Foundation.(2)
Ribbon
cutting was held by the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce for the
expansion and improvement at the Fairbury City
Museum.
Improvements include a
new barn storage area and improvements inside the
museum.
Fairbury
Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the new Senior Diners
location at the Fairbury Community Building in the city park.
Previous to this the Senior Diners were meeting at the American
Legion club on the corner of 5th & C streets. (2)

Stop lights
removed from downtown Fairbury, replaced with four way stop signs.

Irvin
Schultis was posthumously induced into the Nebraska Auctioneers
Hall of Fame. He had been at the craft for 60 years. His business
continues today still ran by his family. Schultis and Son,

A Jefferson
County vehicle crashed throught the east wall of the Church of
Latter Day Saints at 417 F. St. No serious injuries reported.

Fairbury Chamber of Commerce is expecting 7,000 to 10,000 people to
attend the annual Fourth of July Flea Market.(2)

of Steele City considers how to make the railroad crossing in town

rabies case was verified in Fairbury, being a cat. Caution is

A food drive conducted by the First Baptist Church Vacation Bible School, Fairbury, raised over 400 pounds of food for the Blue Valley Action Food Pantry.(2)
