District 1 - Steele City School which was organized at Jenkins Mill about one-half mile southeast of the present site of Steele City, in 1868.
The school was moved to Steele City in 1873. Although, the high school was closed in 1958. The building continues to operate as a grade school.
Footnote: The school is now closed and owned by the Jefferson County Historical Society.

District 2 -
Babcock School, which was located in Cub
Creek Precinct* was organized in 1868. The school closed in
1955.
District 3 -
Rocky Hollow, which was
located in Endicott
Precinct*.
District 4
- Plainview School, wich was
located in Cub
Creek Precinct* was organized in about 1869. The school was
closed in about 1969.
District 5 -
Mount Vernon School, which
was located southeast of Endicott, was organized in about 1869. The
school closed in May 1957.
District 6 -Kesterson School, which was first known as Blackhall School was located near the former site of Kesterson south of Fairbury, was organized in 1872. Closed in May, 1960.
District 7 - Endicott School, first know as Friends School when it was organized in 1860 east of Endicott. The school was moved to Endicott about 1880. The high school closed in 1967.
The grade school is still attended by area students. Note: Now closed.
District 8 -Fairbury Schools, was first organized with classes taught in a log cabin. The first building was built in 1870 and has since grown into the current kindergarten thru 12th grade.
District 9 -
Old Plymouth School, which
was also know as the Cub Creek School, was organized in 1868 at the
site of the first village of Plymouth.
Although the village was moved to the
north, the school continued to operate until 1958.
District 10 -
Meridian School which was
later known as the Dein School, was organized in the early 1860's
the former site of Meridian.
The school closed in 1960, but has been
restored by the Jefferson County Historical Society as a
schoolhouse museum.
District 11 - Pheasant School, which was later known as the Camp and Brink Schools, was organized in 1868 and located in Jefferson Precinct* near Cub Creek.
The school was closed May
1964.
District 12- Rock Creek School, which was located in Rock Creek Precinct* was organized in 1870.
In 1954, the district consolated with
District 14 and 63, with the consolated school known as District
63, which closed in 1969.
District 13
- Avery School, which was
later known as Buckley School, was organized in about 1868 in
Buckley
Precinct*. The school closed in 1958.
District 14 -
Holiday School which was
later known as the North Star School was organized 1870. The school
was closed in 1946.
District 15 -
Fairview School which was
located in
Buckley Precinct*. The school closed May 1945.
District 16 - Gage School which as also know as the West Bower School, was organized in 1869 which the Bower Community began in Washington Precinct*.
The school was closed in May
1967.
District 17 - Chirnside School, which was located in the Gibson Precinct*, was organized in 1870. The school was closed in and about 1965.
District 18 - Saylor
School, which was also known as Cottonwood School, was organized in
1871 in
Eureka Precinct*. The school closed in May
1952.
District 19 -
Zabel School which was known
as Pleasant Dale School, was organized in May 1870 in
Washington Precinct*. The school was closed in May
1953.
District 20 -
White School, which was
located in
Richand Precinct*, was organized in 1870. The school was closed
in 1961.
District 21 -
Carlin School also known as
Highland View School, was organized in about 1870 in
Washington Precinct* northeast of Daykin. The school was closed
in 1947.
District 22 -
Velvesta School, which was
located in Endicott
Precinct*, was organized in 1870. The school was closed in May
1966.
District 23 -
Springhill School, which was
located
Newton Precinct*, was organized in 1870. The school closed in
1959.
District 24 -
Maple Grove School, which
was located in
Richland Precinct*, was organized in about 1900. The school was
closed in 1971.
District 25
- No name has been determinted for the
school, which was located in
Lincoln Precinct*. It was organized in January 1871 and closed
in 1945.
District 26 -
Ackeret School, which was
located in
Lincoln Precinct*, was organized in Oct. 31, 1871. The school
closed in May 1968.
District 27 -
KC & O Junction which
was also known as the Blue Valley School, located in
Richland Precinct*. It was organized Sept. 12, 1870. Closed in
about 1960.
District 28 -
Koeppel School, which was
located in
Lincoln Precinct*, was organized December 2nd, 1870. Closed in
May 1968.
District 29 - High Prairie School which was located in Meridian Precinct*, was organized March 13, 1871. The school closed in May 1952.
District 30 -
No name has been determined
for the school, which was located in
Eureka Precinct*. It was organized in about 1872 and closed in
1953.
District 31 -
Rose Hill School, which was
located in Endicott
Precinct*, was organized in about 1872. The school closed in
1946.
District 32 -
Upland School, which was
later known as Prairie Gem School, was located in
Meridian Precinct*. It was organized in the late 1800's and
closed in 1960.
District 33 -
Ellermeier School, which was
located in
Gibson Precinct*, was organized Nov. 9, 1879. The school closed
in May 1952.
District 34 -
Zwiefel School which was located in
Endicott
Precinct* was organized in about 1872. The school closed in
about 1905.
District 35-
Brittain School, which was
located in
Eureka Precinct*, was organized in about 1872. The school
closed in about 1945.
District 37 -
Lemon School, which was
located in Buckley
Precinct,* was organized in about 1873. The school was closed
in about 1957.
District 38 -
Jantzen School, which was
also known as the Craig School, was located in
Plymouth Precinct* was organized in 1873. The school was closed
in 1964.
District 39 -
Jones School which was
located in
Rock Creek Precinct*, was organized in about 1874. The school
closed in 1968.
District 40 -
Pleasant Valley School,
which was located in
Antelope Precinct* was organized in 1871. The school was closed
in 1972.
District
41 - Morrick
School, which was also known as Happy Hollow School, was located
Richland Precinct* and was organized in about 1871. The school
closed in 1971.
District 42 -
Mathias School, which was
also known as Pleasant Prairie School, was organized in 1873 in
Jefferson Precinct*. The school closed in
1960.
District 43 -
No name has been determined
for the school, which was located in
Plymouth Precinct*. It was organized in about 1874 and closed
in 1964.
District 44 -
Silver Creek School, which
was located in
Antelope Precinct* was organized in 1874. The school closed in
1965.
District 45 -
Powell School, which was
located in the village of Powell, was organized in 1873. The school
closed in 1970.
District 46
-Beattie School, which also
known as Darrow School was located in
Rock Creek Precinct*. It was organized in or about 1873 and
closed in 1915.
District 47 -
Reynolds School, was located
in the village of Reynolds, was organized in 1881. The high school
closed in about 1963, but the grade school remains active. *Now
closed*
District 48 -
Richland Center School which
was located in
Richland Precinct*, was organized in 1874. The school closed in
1971.
District 49 -
Gardner School, which was
located in the
Richland Precinct*, was organized about 1873. The school closed
in 1970.
District 50 -
Hardy Branch School, which
was located in the
Meridian Precinct* was organized in 1873. The school closed in
about 1949.
District 51 -
Dry Branch School which was
located in the
Antelope Precinct* was organized in 1873. The school closed in
1973.
Distrcit 52 -
Excelsior School, which was
located in
Gibson Precinct*, was organized in 1875. The school closed in
1959.
District 53 -
Prairie View School, which
was located in the Buckley
Precinct*, was organized in 1874. The school was closed in
1950.
District 54 -
Village View School, which
was located in
Eureka Precinct*, was organized in 1878. The school closed in
May 1952.
District 55 -
Rue School, which was also
known as Pleasant Hill School, was located in
Fairbury Precinct* and was organzied in about 1875. The school
closed in 1968.
District 56 -
Pleasant Hill School, which
was located in
Pleasant Precinct*, was organized in about 1875. The school
closed in 1968.
District 57 -
Jack Hill School, was
located in
Newton Precinct*, was organized in about 1875. The closed in
about 1960.
District 58 -
Pleasant View School, which
was located in
Newton Precinct*, was organized in about 1879. The school was
closed in about 1970.
Distrcit 59 -
Rose Lawn School, which was
located in
Cub Creek Precinct* was organized in about 1879. The school was
closed May 1951.
District 60 -
Blue Bell School, which also
known as Wood School, was organized in 1877 in the
Newton Precinct*. The school was closed in
1960.
District 61 -
Packer School which was also
known as Traum School, was organized in the
Fairbury Precinct* in about 1878. Closed in
1963.
District 62 -
East Bower School which was
also known as Cowles School, was located in
Washington Precinct* in 1878. The school was closed May
1967.
District 63 -
Elm Creek School, which was
located in
Rock Creek Precinct*, was organized in about 1878. The school
closed in 1954.
District 64 -
Blauser School, which was
also know as the Mulberry Grove School, was organized in about 1878
in
Pleasant Precinct*. The school was closed in May
1960.
District 65 -
Grand School, which was
located in Cub
Creek Precinct*, was organized in the late 1800's. The school
closed in the 1950's.
District 66 -
Krebs School, which was also
known as Sunny Slope School, was organized in about 1878 in
Pleasant Precinct*. The school closed in 1960.
District 67 -
Hope Valley School, which
was located in Cub
Creek Precinct*, was organized in about 1878. The school closed
in May 1939.
District 68 -
Simpkins School, which was
located in
Plymouth Precinct*, was organized in about 1878. The school was
closed in 1958.
District 69 -
Welton School, which was
also know as Farmstead School, was organized in 1879 in
Fairbury Precinct*. The school remained open until May 1990
when it closed.
District 70 -
Diller School was organized
in the village and later became District 103.

District 71 -
Gladstone School was
organized in the village of Gladstone in 1881. The school closed in
May 1968.
District 72 -
No name has been deteremined
for the school, which was located in
Washington Precinct*. It was organized in about 1180 and closed
in 1972.
District 73 -
Pleasant Hill School, which
was located in Jefferson
Precinct*, was organized in 1883. The school closed about
1959.
District 74 -
Oaks School, which was
located in
Pleasant Precinct*, was organzied in September 1883. The school
was closed in about 1959.
District 75 -
Prairie Lawn School, was located in
Gibson Precinct*, was organized in November 1883. The school
closed in 1953.
District 76 -
No name has been determined
for the school, which was located in
Gibson Precinct* in about 1884. The school closed in
1952.
District 77 -
Busing School, which was
located in
Meridian Precinct*, was organized in about 1884. The school
closed in 1954.
District 78 -
Drake School, which was
located in
Antelope Precinct* was organized in 1887. The school closed in
1964.
District 79 -
Traeger School, which was
located in
Fairbury Precinct*, was organized in about 1886. The school was
closed in 1952.
District 80 -
Sevier School, which was
located in Endicott
Precinct*, was organized in about 1885. The school was closed
in 1945.
District 81 -
No name had been determined
for the school, which was located in
Lincoln Precinct*. It was organized in November 1885 and closed
in 1946.
District 82 -
Victory School, which was
located in
Washington Precinct*, was organized in 1886. The school closed
in 1968.
District 83 -
Reesman School, which was
also known as Forest Grove School, was organized as
Fairbury Precinct* in August 1886. The school closed in
1950.
District 84 -
Union Corner School, which
was located in
Plymouth Precinct*, was organized in 1887. The school closed in
1945.
District 85 -
Union School which was
located in the
Eureka Precinct* organized prior to 1886. The school was closed
in 1923.
District 86 -
Winter School witch was
located in the
Eureka Precinct* was organized in 1887. The school closed in
1952.
District 87 -
Harbine School, which was
located in the village of Harbine, was organized in about 1887. The
school closed in 1971.
District 88 -
Mandevillie School which was
located in
Newton Precinct*, was organized in 1888. The school closed in
May 1953.
District 89 -
Weigel School, which was
also known as Sandy Valley School, was located in Newton
Precinct*. It was organized in about 1888 and closed in
1953.
District 90 - Daykin School, which was located in the village of Daykin, was organized in 1889.
The school was closed in 1967 when it was consolated with the Meridian School District*.
District 91 -
Deffer School, which was
also known as Washington School, was organized in
Washington Precinct* in 1889. The school closed in
1939.
District 92 -
Williams School, which was
also known as the Houser School, was organized in about 1890. The
school in May 1947.
District 93 -
Wrigley School, which was
also known as Meadow Brook School, was located in Jefferson
Precinct*. It was organized in about 1891 and closed May
1965.
District 94 -
Cunningham School, which was
also known as Prairie Valley School, was located in
Lincoln Precinct*. It was organized in about 1891 and closed in
May 1953.
District 95 -
Peter Jansen School, which
was also known as Prairie Home School, was located in
Jefferson Precinct*. It was organized in 1892 and closed in
about 1946.
District 96 -
Achtemeier School, which was
located in
Jefferson Precinct*, was organize in 1894. It was closed in
about 1957.
District 97 -
Jansen School, which was
located in the village of Jansen, was organized in 1887. The school
closed in about 1973.
District 98 -
Plymouth School, which was
located in the village of Plymouth, was organized in about 1894.
The school was closed in 1983.
District 99 -
Gregory School, was also
known as Ranch School, was located in
Eureka Precinct*. It was organized in about 1896 and closed in
1952.
District 100 -
Cramb School, which was also
known as Kriesel School, was located in
Lincoln Precinct*. It was organized in December 1899 and closed
in May 1952.
District 101
-Thompson
School which was located in the village of Thompson, was organized
in 1901 and closed about 1972.
District 102 -
Baruth School, which was
located in
Meridan Precinct*, was organized in 1909. The school closed in
May 1958.
